Job summary

Prime Healthcare seeks a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, TX. The Tele RN monitors cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient conditions in telemetry units, ensuring timely interventions and high-quality care.

Full-time Day shifts (12-hour, 7:00am–7:00pm) with sign-on bonus. Must hold RN license, BLS; ACLS preferred. Prior acute care experience and BSN are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification required upon hire; maintain current.
• ACLS certification preferred; 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and monitor vital signs and cardiac rhythms to guide care.
• Monitor patients’ cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians, including telemetry findings.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Provide hands-on nursing care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care in the Telemetry Unit.
• Respond quickly to patient condition changes and coordinate with physicians.
• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).

Overview

We are seeking a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN), sometimes referred to as a Telemetry RN or Tele RN. A Tele RN specializing in attending to patients within our telemetry units, including those needing cardiac monitoring. The Tele RN will monitor and interpret our patient's vital signs, such as heart rate, heart rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation level. Continuous monitoring of patients, by the Telemetry RN enables gathering real-time data to make informed decisions regarding patient care, ensuring early detection of abnormalities or changes in the patient's condition.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall health status, to create individualized care plans
• Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, which allows for remote monitoring of patients' heart rates and rhythms
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions
• Provide hands‑on care to patients, including wound care, administering treatments, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and treatments, as well as provide guidance on self‑care practices and lifestyle modifications in the Telemetry Unit
• Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions throughout shift and be able to address any concerns to the physician as soon as possible
• Responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Qualifications

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
