Job summary

Roxborough Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, direct patient care in a Telemetry unit. You will apply the nursing process and collaborate with physicians to monitor cardiac status and test results, while guiding patient and family education.

Requirements include a valid RN license, BLS, ACLS, and basic arrhythmia interpretation. Acute care experience and ventilator management are preferred; BSN is desirable.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within scope of practice.
• Guide patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing staff in Telemetry.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in Telemetry Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient�s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
