Job summary

St. David's Medical Center is seeking a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to assess patients, develop and implement plans of care, and contribute to ongoing evaluation of treatment outcomes. You will work within an interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, high-quality care in a telemetry setting.

The role involves coordinating with nurses and providers, administering medications, and supporting pre/post-operative care while prioritizing patient education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of clinical nursing experience as an RN
• Able to recognize cardiac rhythms – preferred
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program
• BSN – preferred

Responsibilities

• Formulate a plan of care, revise the plan based on patient response to treatment and evaluate effectiveness.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate and revise the plan of care to meet patient needs.
• Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy.
• Delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff per standards of practice.
• Provide pre- and post-operative patient care.
• Provide education materials to patients and families on care and treatments.
• Facilitate discharge plans in collaboration with the care team.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, and implementing and evaluating care. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, you will work collaboratively with the other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care.

• You will formulate a plan of care, revise the plan based on the patient’s response to treatment and regularly evaluate plan for effectiveness
• You will consult and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate and revise the plan of care to meet the patient’s needs and goals
• You will administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy
• You will delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice
• You will provide pre- and post-operative patient care
• You will provide education materials to patients and families on care and treatments
• You will facilitate discharge plans in collaboration with the care team

Requirements

Experience

• 1-3 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Able to recognize cardiac rhythms – preferred

Education

• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred

Certificates and Licenses

• Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
