Job summary

SoftPath Medical is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Telemetry Unit in Arlington, VA. This night-shift position supports 1:5 patient-to-nurse ratios on 6B with a 24-bed unit, within a 13-week assignment.

You will care for CHF, post-MI, and rhythm-dysfunction patients, requiring EPIC use and ongoing telemetry monitoring. The role demands active state license (VA or compact), and current BLS/ACLS certs, plus 2+ years of nursing experience in a cardiac telemetry setting.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of EPIC experience within the past 12 months.
• Active VA or Compact Nursing License at submission.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Cardiac telemetry experience within the past year.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for cardiac telemetry patients including CHF, post MI, dysrhythmias, and A-fib.
• Monitor patient status and respond to telemetry alarms promptly.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure stable patient condition.

Shift and Duration

Schedule: 36 or 48 Night Shifts

Duration: 13 weeks

Unit Details

Unit: 6B, Cardiac Telemetry

Rooms: 24

Patient-to-Nurse Ratio: 1:5

Unit Overview

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Rule out Myocardial Infarction (MI)
• Post MI care
• New onset or unstable angina
• Pericardial disease
• Cardiac drug toxicity
• Suspected pacemaker or ICD malfunction
• Post ICD/pacemaker insertion care
• Chest pain of suspected cardiac origin
• Atrial fibrillation (A-fib)
• Syncope of suspected cardiac origin
• Treated or stable aortic dissection
• Pre/post therapeutic catheterization
• Dysrhythmias
• Patients requiring administration of select continuous infusions of cardiac medications or oral drug therapy for dysrhythmias

The unit also cares for medical/surgical patients.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of recent EPIC experience within the past 12 months (must be included in submission)
• Active VA or Compact Nursing License at time of submission
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Cardiac telemetry experience within the past year
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience

Vaccination Policy

• Flu vaccine is required during flu season (October 1 through March 31)
• Requests for religious or medical flu vaccine exemptions must comply with CMS guidelines and will be reviewed and approved with supporting documentation
