The Part-Time Registered Nurse, Virtual Care, provides telephonic emergency triage and patient care advice for general and specific illnesses, health issues, counseling, advocacy, education, and referrals. You will offer remote clinical assessments within your license and technological capabilities, collaborating with primary caregivers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.

Shift Schedule:

  • Tuesdays 1700-2100
  • Wednesdays 1700-2100
  • Thursdays 1700-2100
  • Saturdays 0800-1600

Essential Duties:

  • Provide health assessments, monitor patient health, assist in emergencies, and promote wellness.
  • Connect with patients via phone or video to assess conditions and perform triage.
  • Interview patients, document health history, and record data using computer systems.
  • Monitor vital signs such as blood oxygen, heart rate, blood pressure, and blood glucose, as technology allows.
  • Identify symptoms via video, analyze data, and determine appropriate health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with on-call providers to support clinical outcomes.
  • Evaluate and document patient progress, ensuring optimal outcomes through telemedicine.
  • Enhance telehealth practices and nursing standards through effective utilization and improvements.
  • Use resources to plan and provide safe, effective, and cost-efficient services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or modified by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of core nursing practices and procedures.
  • Excellent customer service and professionalism.
  • Up-to-date nursing knowledge and competencies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build trust and deliver VIP care.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize under pressure and collaborate effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant systems.
  • Willingness to travel locally up to 10% and work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fluency in English; bilingual in Spanish/Creole preferred.
  • Ability to exercise clinical judgment.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Nurse Licensure Compact license required; ability to obtain additional licenses within 90 days.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • At least 3 years of acute clinical nursing experience in emergency or urgent care settings preferred.
  • Experience with older adults and virtual care is highly preferred.
