McLaren Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse Team Leader for the Medical Surgical unit. This 60-bed unit provides care for a broad patient population and operates as a Primary Stroke Center and Level 2 Trauma Center.
The role delivers nursing care per hospital policies and engages with a charge nurse, educator, and supervisor. A 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio emphasizes teamwork and compassionate care. Full-time night shift with on-call and ACLS/other certifications where required.
The McLaren system includes 12 hospitals across the state, ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, a 730-member employed primary and specialty care physician network, commercial and Medicaid HMOs covering more than 242,000 Michigan lives, home health, infusion and hospice providers, pharmacy services, a clinical laboratory network, and a wholly owned medical malpractice insurance company. McLaren operates Michigan’s largest network of cancer centers and providers, anchored by the Karmanos Cancer Institute, a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. McLaren has 20,000 full-, part-time and contracted employees and more than 93,000 network providers throughout Michigan.
60 bed unit where we care for any and all patient populations that are not pediatrics or critical care. This includes but is not limited to:
We have a charge nurse who oversees all 60 beds, as well as an educator on the day shift and a supervisor on the night shift, and a manger during normal business hours. The charge nurse serves as a resource to help answer any questions, an extra set of hands when needed, a clinical resource, and tracks the admissions and discharges. The nurse to patient ratio is 6:1, and requires you to enjoy hardwork and teamwork in order to be successful. The team works incredibly well together and we are looking for members to join the team that uphold the same values - caring for every patient like it's your own family, and lending a helping hand to do what's best for our patients and team.
Responsible for the delivery of nursing care within the assigned unit scope of practice following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice.
