Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Step Down Unit (7 West) in the Cardiac Hospitalist area. This full-time role features 72 Bi-Weekly hours with rotating 7a-7p and 7p-7a shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Sign-on bonuses are available for qualifying experience and new graduates. Join a unit equipped with advanced telemetry and bedside support, working with PCNAs, interns, and providers to deliver high-quality critical care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire (preferred).
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification (AHA) or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Care for CCSD patients in the Critical Care units with high acuity.
• Interpret EKGs and monitor telemetry.
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies).
• Collaborate with PCNAs, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT, OT.
• Maintain a 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio and provide timely nursing care.

Primary Patient Population:

• Congestive Heart Failure
• COPD
• DKA
• Sepsis

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• EKG interpretation
• Central Line care
• Rescue Bi-pap, High Flow Oxygen, Trach/Vents,
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies)
• Critical thinking, delegating, time management

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT, OT

Number of beds on unit:24 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
