Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Surgical Telemetry unit. This full-time role offers day shifts 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and/or night shifts 7:00 p.m.

- 7:00 a.m. with days varying; sign-on and relocation bonuses are available for eligible nurses. The Surgical Telemetry unit is a 24-bed team focusing on abdominal, colorectal, hepatobiliary, and kidney transplant patients.

Qualifications

• BSN or ADN required with plan to complete BSN within 5 years.
• 1 year of RN experience in critical care.
• BLS and ACLS certification; Virginia RN licensure or multi-state license.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their relationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations.
• Conducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet needs.
• Advocates for patients' rights and provides counsel while resolving issues.
• Coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
• Documents all patient care activities per documentation standards.
• Evaluates processes to achieve outcomes and revises plans of care as needed.
• Makes clinical decisions to promote clinical decision making among team members.
