Job Summary:

We are seeking a Surgical ICU RN for our facility to ensure high-quality, efficient patient care. Join our supportive team that values patient care as much as you do. We encourage you to apply now!

Night Shift

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients.
• Meet the Standards of Practice for the Neuro Trauma ICU and manage personnel, supplies, and equipment.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
• Respond to Code Blue and perform life-saving measures per ACLS protocol.
• Interpret EKG rhythms and evaluate 12-lead EKGs.
• Monitor and titrate IV vasoactive, antiarrhythmic, and other drugs as per physician orders.
• Assess patients continuously based on acuity.
• Assist physicians with procedures (e.g., thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, venous access).
• Charge the unit as needed.
• Provide care for medical or surgical critically ill patients, including post-operative care after heart or neurosurgery.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year ICU experience.
• Current Texas or compact state RN licensure.
• Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification within six months of hire.
• CCRN certification preferred within two years.
• NIHSS certification within three months, maintained every two years if currently certified.
• Annual acute stroke education (8 hours).
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred.
