Job summary

St. Luke’s Health System is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Psychiatric Oncology Program within the St. Luke’s Cancer Institute. The RN will deliver triage, symptom management, care coordination, and education for oncology patients and families.

The role is full-time (0.9 FTE) with a day shift, primarily based at SLCI Boise and with occasional coverage at SLCI Meridian. Sign-on bonus and certification pay are available for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree required
• RN licensure in state of practice
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Behavioral health and/or oncology experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and support providers with oncology and mental health patient care, treatment management, and coordination of services across the continuum of care
• Partner with an interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient-centered care
• Provide education, guidance, and emotional support to patients and families about cancer treatment plans and resources
• Assist with patient assessments, including vital signs and lab results, to help develop and evaluate care plans

What You Can Expect:

As we continue to grow our Psychiatric Oncology Program, we are seeking a compassionate and collaborative Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Supportive Oncology team. Supportive Oncology is an integral part of the St. Luke’s Cancer Institute philosophy that healing comes from caring for the whole person, not just the disease.

In this role, the Psych-Oncology RN will provide essential support through patient triage, symptom management, care coordination, treatment education, and follow up care.

• Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients and support providers with oncology and mental health patient care, treatment management, and coordination of services across the continuum of care
  • Partner closely with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, advanced practice providers, navigators, pharmacists, patient financial advocates, and other specialists to deliver exceptional patient-centered care
  • Provide education, guidance, and emotional support to patients and families regarding cancer treatment plans, symptom management, and available resources
  • Assist with patient assessments, including vital signs and laboratory results, to help develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
• Full-time (0.9 FTE): day shift schedule – no nights, weekends, or St. Luke’s observed holidays
• Primary work location is at SLCI Boise, with regular coverage at the SLCI Meridian (approx. one day a week)
• Sign-on bonus available for eligible for new hires!
• Certification pay available (e.g. OCN)

Qualifications:

• Education: Nursing Degree
• Experience: One (1) + years’ RN experience
• Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health & Safety Institute
• Preferred: Behavioral Health and/or Oncology experience
