Job summary

ArchCare Careers seeks a Nurse Supervisor to implement administrative nursing goals, ensure staffing coverage, and oversee daily unit operations. The role includes orienting new staff, managing transfers, and ensuring orders and treatments comply with physician directives.

The candidate must hold a current NY State RN license, with an associate degree required and a bachelor’s degree preferred, and possess at least one year of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Implements administrative goals and policies and interprets Nursing Services objectives to nurses on the units.
• Assist in ensuring appropriate staffing is met during shifts.
• Rounds the nursing units daily to assess resident conditions and reports changes to the Director of Nursing.
• Observes care to ensure orders are carried out and treatments align with physician instructions.
• Assist with orienting new nurses and nursing students.
• Arrange hospital transfers of residents.
• May render nursing care, administer medications and perform treatments.
• Assist in planning, developing, organising and implementing departmental goals and objectives.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels by coordinating with Staffing Coordinator.
• Exhibit creativity and initiative to grow and develop the organization and department.

Responsibilities:

• - Implements administrative goals and policies and interprets objectives of Nursing Services to the nurses on the units.
• - Assist in ensuring appropriate staffing is met during shift.
• - Rounds the nursing units daily to ascertain the condition and needs of the residents and informs Director of Nursing of all changes and related problems.
• - Observes nursing care of the residents to ensure that orders are carried out as directed and treatment is administered in accordance with physician's instructions.
• - Assists with orientating newly employed nurses and clinical placement of nursing students.
• - Arranges hospital transfer of residents.
• - May render nursing care, administer medication and perform treatments.
• - Assists in planning, developing, organizing and implementing departmental goals and objectives.
• - Ensure appropriate staffing levels are met for each unit by coordinating with Staffing Coordinator
• - Exhibits creativity and initiative in pursuing organizational and departmental growth and development.

Education: Current NY State Registered Nurse License

Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience: 1 year supervisory experience
