Job summary

Central State Hospital in Louisville, KY is seeking a full-time Nurse Supervisor to coordinate nursing services across patient units. You will manage scheduling, staff assignments, and respond to call-ins and codes while ensuring adequate staffing levels.

The role requires a Kentucky RN license and at least one year of supervisory experience; psychiatric experience is preferred. A valid driver's license is also required, and compliance with all hospital policies is expected.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a supervisor.
• Psychiatric experience preferred.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Central State Hospital is hiring a FULL TIME Nurse Supervisor position

• Shift differential (10% hourly wage increase from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM and 12% hourly wage increase from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM)


• Additional $1.00 hourly wage increase on weekends

Essential Job Functions:

Coordinates hospital functions and nursing services including scheduling, job assignments, responding to call-ins, responding to codes, assuring appropriate staff levels and working on the patient units.

Responds to all psychiatric/medical emergencies, AWOLs, disasters, general safety issues and codes. Follows Hospital policies for Incident Management. Conference with Administrator on Call as directed. Monitors patient care/unit conditions; confers with Nurse Managers regarding patient/unit concerns.

Provides coverage on patient care units as needed. Assists with employee training. Coordinates Performance Improvement projects on assigned shifts. Attends nursing meetings as requested/required.

Meets medical record and departmental documentation requirements; completes and documents assignments with established timeframes. Completes all annually required training within specified timeframes; other related duties, as assigned.

Required:

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing and hold a Kentucky Registered Nurse license or a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing


• One year of experience as a supervisor


• Psych experience preferred


• Must have and maintain active and valid driver's license
