Henry Ford Health Providence Southfield Hospital in Southfield, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Stepdown Intermediate Care unit to lead and coordinate high-quality patient care. You will apply the nursing process, communicate with the care team, and document care and patient progress with professionalism.

BSN preferred; Michigan RN licensure required. ACLS must be obtained within six months of hire.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

SCHEDULE: (3) - 12 Hour Shifts, 7am - 730pm, every other weekend and rotating holidays.Full-Time Benefit Eligible

LOCATION: Henry Ford Providence Southfield Hospital

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.


• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.


• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.


• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.

The Stepdown Intermediate Care Unit is a 14-bed Progressive Respiratory Unit specializing in the care of patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and pulmonary edema. The unit also cares for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation such as BiPAP/CPAP, or high-flow oxygen therapy.

The unit supports patients transitioning from the ICU, as well as those with escalating care needs from Medical-Surgical units. Patients are continuously monitored via telemetry, and all new hires are required to successfully complete mandatory telemetry training.

The team works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary group that includes a dedicated Unit Nurse Practitioner and support from the pulmonary team, including a rotating Pulmonary Fellow.

Requirements: ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
