DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is DMC’s largest hospital, offering a comprehensive range of services including heart care, cancer treatment, gerontology, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, and cosmetic procedures. Sinai-Grace’s joint replacement program features minimally invasive knee and hip surgeries, attracting patients nationwide. The hospital operates over 21 outpatient care sites and ambulatory surgery centers throughout Wayne and Oakland Counties. It is one of ten hospitals nationally awarded a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to help set cardiac care standards.

Job Description

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for ensuring high-quality nursing care. The RN manages and delivers patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with team members, including ancillary and support staff. The RN's role includes leadership, partnership, teaching, supervision, and participation in shared decision-making.

Key Responsibilities of the DMC RN include:

• Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers
• Delegating, assessing, providing, and evaluating patient care
• Providing and delegating patient care activities to team members
• Monitoring patient progress and preparing patients for discharge
• Reporting to senior unit management and participating in shared decision-making activities

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN preferred
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan required
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
