Job summary

Bluebonnet Trails Community Services seeks a Registered Nurse to join the State Hospital Step Down program in Bastrop, TX. The RN will be part of the Intensive Transition Team, providing 24/7 support and coordinating step-down care from inpatient settings to community living.

The position includes leadership of medical care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery goals. Residents stay 6–12 months on average, with hourly pay starting at $37.86 and up to $43.61, plus

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program and licensed as RN in Texas.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Pass a standard State and Federal background check.
• Computer literate with Windows/MS Office.
• Current CPR certification.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Medication monitoring and administration.
• Conduct individual assessments and interpret lab results.
• Provide education on medications, health, nutrition, mental illness, and substance use.
• Administer injections and perform venipuncture.
• Collect and interpret urine drug screens and pregnancy tests.
• Supervise and educate on nursing needs; delegate tasks to on-site staff.
