Job summary

Bluebonnet Trails Community Services is seeking a Registered Nurse for the State Hospital Step Down program in Bastrop, TX. The RN will lead medical care within a 24/7 on-site Intensive Transition Team, coordinating with hospital staff and community-based providers to support recovery goals.

Responsibilities include medication management, patient assessments, labs, injections, venipuncture, and supervising nursing support staff.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Pass a standard State and Federal background check.
• CPR certification and computer literacy with Windows/MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Medication monitoring and administration.
• Individual assessments and interpretation of lab results.
• Education regarding medications, health and nutrition, mental illness and substance use.
• Administer injections, venipuncture, urine drug screens and pregnancy tests.
• Supervise support staff and delegate nursing duties on site 24/7.
