Job summary

Cottage Health in Santa Barbara seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for our 20-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), a Beacon Award winner. This unit cares for critically ill patients across trauma, neurological, cardiovascular, thoracic, and general surgeries.

Required qualifications include a California RN license, BLS and ACLS, and a minimum of acute care experience within the last two years. BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Preferred: BSN.
• Licenses/Certifications: California RN license, BLS, ACLS.

Job description

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for our 20-bed Beacon Award winning Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) which provides care for a wide variety of critically ill patients, including Trauma (we are a Level 1 Trauma Center), Neurological and Interventional Insult, Cardio-Vascular and Thoracic Surgical services, and other general surgeries.

Qualifications:
All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

Education:

• Preferred: Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

• Minimum: Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
• American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Years of Related Work Experience:

• Minimum: Acute care experience within the last two years

*Pay for non-physician positions is determined based on related years of experience and internal equity. Eligible employees may also receive additional forms of compensation, including shift differentials, on‑call pay, incentive pay, and bonus opportunities, where applicable. Manager and above positions may participate in Cottage Health’s annual management incentive program. Physician compensation is determined based upon specialty and may include bonus potential.
