Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a registered nurse to support a 5-year-old student in a Connecticut school from Monday to Friday, 9:05 AM to 3:35 PM. The role focuses on safe, compassionate care within the classroom and collaboration with school staff to meet medical needs during the day.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license in CT, has pediatric experience, and can monitor central lines and ostomy care while documenting observations and responding to emergencies as part of the student

Qualifications

• Comfort with central line monitoring (not day-to-day care)

• Document observations and share updates with school staff and family
• Participate in classroom routines while maintaining health protocols
• Support overall wellness and address concerns for the student
• Act as healthcare advocate within the student support team

Job description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a young student in an educational environment. As a Registered Nurse, your presence will directly impact the well-being and daily experience of a 5-year-old attending school Monday through Friday from 9:05 AM to 3:35 PM. Working in close coordination with educational staff, youll ensure a safe, nurturing atmosphere as you attend to specific medical needs throughout the school day.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state
• Experience providing nursing care for pediatric patients
• Prior exposure to a school or educational setting preferred
• Confidence in monitoring central lines (no in-depth care required during the day)
• Familiarity with jejunostomy management and ostomy bag monitoring
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, attentive approach
• Ability to respond promptly and effectively in emergencies

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Monitor a 5-year-old students central line and ostomy bag throughout the school day, ensuring comfort and safety
• Remain attentive to the students condition, documenting observations and communicating any necessary information with school staff and family
• Participate in daily routines within the classroom environment while maintaining health protocols
• Support the overall wellness of the student, providing reassurance and addressing any concerns
• Serve as a healthcare advocate within the students support team, contributing to a positive educational experience
