Job summary

Northwell Health in Manhasset, NY seeks a Registered Nurse, SAFE/SANE Certified to provide comprehensive patient care across assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation within a collaborative healthcare team.

This per diem role requires an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred), NYS RN license, and BLS certification, with 1–2 years of experience in a related specialty. You will assess, educate, document, and advocate for patient safety and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s physiologic health status.
• Conduct patient interviews and explain policies and procedures.
• Assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status.
• Determine mobility, sensory deficits, prostheses use, and skin condition.
• Assess level of pain and pain management.
• Communicate and document patient’s physiologic health status and plan of care.
• Elicit perception of medical/nursing care and expectations.
• Develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes.
• Identify actual/potential patient problems and needs for teaching.
• Maintain constant vigilance over patient care to ensure safety precautions are followed.
