Bluebonnet Trails Community MHMR Center in Bastrop, TX seeks a Registered Nurse to support psychiatric and behavioral health services in an outpatient clinic. Under the director of nursing, you will assist physicians, take vital signs, record in the EMR, and manage medication authorizations to prevent lapses.
You will educate clients on nutrition, medications, diagnoses and health topics, administer injections, venipuncture, urine drug screens and pregnancy tests.
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager, and the Regional Clinic Director, this RN will provide support for psychiatric and behavioral health services in an outpatient clinic based in Bastrop. This nurse is a part of the multidisciplinary team to support individuals in services.
The RN should possess a positive attitude, a caring spirit and have excellent communication skills. This position supports the prescribing physicians and nurse practitioners to ensure a structured clinic flow and is responsible for obtaining vital signs, weight, height, BMI, recording information in the electronic medical record, staging medication consents, and obtaining medication authorizations to ensure no lapse in prescriptions.
This position will provide education on nutrition, medications, diagnosis, and other health related concerns to support the individual in services. This nurse will administer injections, perform venipuncture, administer urine drug screens and pregnancy tests.
The position is responsible for adhering to all agency policies and procedures. No on call or weekend work is expected or required.

Credentials Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed Registered Nurse.
At least two years of experience working as an RN.
Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least two years of experience providing behavioral health services in any of the following settings: Outpatient, Inpatient, Residential, or Clinic.
Bilingual in Spanish and/or ASL.
