Job summary

Memorial Medical Center, a 199-bed acute hospital in Las Cruces, NM, is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 5-bed Wound Care unit. You will assess patient needs, administer treatments, and collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications include an active RN license, an associate's degree, BLS, and WOCN pathway requirements; BSN preferred with a two-year deadline to obtain it. This full-time role offers sign-on incentives and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have a current state RN license.
• An associate's degree from an accredited nursing school is required; BSN preferred.
• BSN must be obtained within two years.
• WOCN Education Program accreditation or equivalent experience required; complete within two years and sit for board exam.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• 4500 hours (2-3 years) direct patient care, including wound/ostomy/continence care.

Department/Unit Summary

Join our team in a 5-bed Wound Care unit where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Registered Nurses (RNs), Hyperbaric Chamber Operators, LPNs and CMAs. With a 3:4 nurse to patient ratio, you will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. BSN preferred.

• Expectation to obtain BSN within two years.
• Completed a WOCN Nursing Education Program (WOCNEP) accredited by the WOCN Society as a standard pathway and/or meet experiential requirements. If not completed, must complete within two years and meet requirements to sit and pass the WOCNCB board certification exam within the same two years.
• BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• 4500 hours (2-3 years) of direct patient experience that encompasses wound, ostomy, and continence care.
