Job summary

Ashley Regional is seeking a Registered Nurse for Women’s Services to coordinate total nursing care, teach patients and families, advocate for patients, and collaborate with a hospital team.

Responsibilities include assessing needs, developing care plans, implementing them, administering treatments, and documenting care. Requires nursing license in state, ADN, and BCLS; ACLS/PALS within six months.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current RN license in state of practice.
  • BCLS certification required; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire or transfer date.

Registered Nurse - Women's Services Position Summary

Position Summary

This position coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as a patient advocate and works as part of a team with ancillary and non-nursing departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Assesses the patient's condition and nursing care needs.
  • Sets goals and prescribes appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of patients.
  • Develops individual nursing care plans.
  • Implements care plans and makes revisions as needed.
  • Evaluates patient care outcomes.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other hospital employees.
  • Administers medications, treatments and therapies.
  • Communicates with patients and oversees provision of care.
  • Provides patients and/or family with instruction and education relevant to condition.
  • Accurately documents nursing observations, assessments, medications, treatments, and other care given.
Additional Information
  • Maintains facility equipment, supplies and work areas.
  • Assists in the orientation of new employees.
  • Coordinates and supervises activities of employees and department operations.
  • Participates in performance/process improvement activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience: 1 year or less

Certifications: BCLS upon completion of hospital orientation; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire or transfer date to position.

Licenses: Current RN license in state of practice

In hospital environment, may be exposed to hazards and unusual elements, which may include but are not limited to bloodborne pathogens and / or contagious illnesses, toxic chemicals, and biohazardous materials which may require extensive safety precautions and the use of protective equipment. Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or hospital environment. Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
