Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit. This role will be Full-time Night Shift: 3x12 hour shifts per week, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:
•Provides skilled, compassionate care and coordinates patient care.
•Collaborates with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
•Delivers patient/family-centered care in a holistic manner.
•Respects diversity and integrates knowledge, skills, and experience to meet patient needs.
•Utilizes effective communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
•Conducts health assessments and formulates individualized care plans.
•Delivers patient/family-centered care to address patient needs.
•Advocates for patients’ rights and resolves issues to ensure quality outcomes.
•Coordinates care across disciplines, ensuring effective transitions.
•Documents patient care activities and assists team members.
•Evaluates care processes and adjusts plans based on patient progress.
•Makes clinical decisions based on data, experience, and intuition.
•Fosters cooperation and respect among clinical disciplines.
•Guides staff in assessing patient learning needs and outcomes.
•Serves as a clinical resource, preceptor, and mentor, and supervises patient care activities.
•Utilizes care delivery standards, integrating communication, technology, and collaboration.
•Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains Continuing Education Records.
•Contributes to performance improvement initiatives and evaluates clinical outcomes.
Registered Nurse (RN) Additional Requirements:
•Work schedule: Full-time Night Shift: 3x12 hour shifts per week, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Staff will be expected work one major one minor holiday as well as four weekend shifts per 6 week schedule.
•Experience: Required 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
•Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
•Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start | For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months | For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months | For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire
•Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
Registered Nurse (RN) Preferred Qualifications:
•Recent (within the past year) Registered Nurse (RN) experience on an inpatient med/surge unit
•(BSN) Bachelor of Science in Nursing
