Job summary

Dartmouth Health in Vermont seeks aRegistered Nurse for Women’s and Children’s Services to deliver nursing care for obstetric and pediatric patients. You will coordinate with physicians, providers and the care team to develop and communicate care plans and educate patients and families for informed decisions.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, Vermont RN licensure by start date, and BLS certification; BSN preferred with prior nursing experience encouraged.

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Currently licensed as an RN in Vermont by date of employment.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to obstetric and pediatric patients.
• Develop, discuss and communicate a care plan with physicians and care team.
• Educate patients and caregivers on medications, options, discharge instructions and safety.

Job description

The RN for Women's and Children's Services is responsible for providing nursing care to obstetric and pediatric patients. In coordination with physicians, providers, and care team the RN develops, discusses and communicates a care plan for each patient. The RN also performs patient and caregiver education to ensure informed patient decision can be made, including, but not limited to medication side effects, treatment options, discharge instructions, reportable conditions and ranges of services. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelors of Science Nursing (BSN) preferred. Prior nursing experience preferred. Ability to obtain a valid Vermont State Registered Nurse license by date of employment required. Current Health Care Provider (BLS) certification required.
