A Brief Overview

Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide nursing care for patients following the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice. The Nurse assumes responsibility for the outcome of nursing care provided to patients in their homes or in facilities. The Nurse demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide exceptional care for the population served.

What You Will Do

• Collect patient health data.
• Analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses/problem focus.
• Identify expected outcomes/goals individualized to the patient.
• Develop a plan of care with interventions to attain expected outcomes.
• Implement the interventions identified in the plan of care.
• Evaluate the patient's progress toward outcomes.
• Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Utilize research/evidence-based findings in practice if appropriate.
• Consider safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering care.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

• Valid driver's license and insurable by Avera Health automobile liability insurance upon hire.
• Active RN license in the state of practice upon hire.

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum two years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
