Riverstreet Manor in Wilkes-Barre, PA seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager for a full-time day shift to lead our nursing team. You will oversee resident care, systems, and processes to deliver high-quality services.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license, BSN preferred, and has 2+ years of supervisory experience in long-term care or hospital settings. Join a team with strong leadership and a culture focused on dignity and excellence.

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in this state.
• BSN preferred.
• Two years supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related health care setting; minimum six months in rehabilitative/restorative nursing.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, laws, regulations and guidelines for care facilities.
• Leadership and supervisory ability with ability to work harmoniously with staff.
• Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs and policies for quality care.
• Must pass post-offer background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by CNAs, LPNs and others under their supervision.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities per organizational policies and laws.
• Interviews, hires and trains employees.
• Plans, assigns and directs work.
• Demonstrates PCC knowledge to support unit operations.
• Ensures all nursing procedures and systems meet quality standards.
• Promotes residents' rights and dignity; supports informed resident decisions.

Requirements of the Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager

• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in this state
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience preferred as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care Facility. Must have, as a minimum of six (6) months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
• Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
• Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager

• Supervises nursing care provided by nursing assistants, licensed vocational/practical nurses and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Interviews, recommends hires and trains employees.
• Plans, assigns and directs work.
• PCC, Point Click Care knowledge
• Demonstrates the knowledge and clinical expertise required to effectively supervise all nursing activities in the facility or the units to which assigned.
• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems relative to the unit(s).
• Promotes and protects resident's rights; assists residents to make informed decisions; treats Residents with dignity and respect.
