Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital in downtown Washington, DC, seeks an RN-Transfer Coordinator to develop and oversee the Transfer Center program, coordinating patient transfers and enhancing staff proficiency. Collaborates with the COO and Transfer Center Medical Director to implement interdisciplinary care pathways and ensure compliant transfer processes for critically ill or injured patients.

This role requires a BSN, 3 years in critical care, and a passion for safe, efficient patient

Qualifications

  • BSN required; Master's preferred.
  • 3 years nursing experience in critical care or trauma care setting.
  • CCRN preferred.
  • Knowledge of EMTALA and transfer regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, enhance and execute the Transfer Center program.
  • Promote staff proficiency in the care of transferred patients.
  • Assist with development and implements interdisciplinary strategies for a coordinated care program for transferred patients.

Position Summary

In collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer and the Transfer Center Medical Director, the RN-Transfer Coordinator develops, coordinates, enhances and executes the Transfer Center program. Promotes staff proficiency in the care of transferred patients. Assists with development and implements interdisciplinary strategies for providing a coordinated care program for transferred patients.

Qualifications
Education/Qualification
  • BSN Required; Master's preferred
  • 3 years nursing experience in critical care or trauma care setting
  • CCRN preferred
  • Knowledge of EMTALA and transfer regulations
