Job summary

Advocate Health in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Throughput Unit. This 10-bed unit handles diverse patient types, including direct admissions and pre/post-surgical care, with sign-on bonus for eligible applicants.

The role requires graduation from a nursing program, active RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of clinical experience. BSN is preferred, with opportunities to float as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing–approved nursing program.
• Active, unrestricted RN license (multi-state compact and/or state-specific based on practice location).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• Additional certifications or experience may be required based on specialty.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered nursing care across the continuum by leveraging the nursing process and adapting care based on patient needs.
• Collaborate effectively with the care team, maintain accurate documentation, support quality and safety initiatives, and uphold professional standards and ethics.

Where You’ll Work:

Step into our dynamic Throughput Unit and unleash your observation nursing skills. With just 10 beds, this unit offers a diverse array of patients with various diagnoses. From direct admissions from medical offices, hospitals, and clinics across the organization to pre-surgery patients awaiting their procedures and even those in recovery, our scope is broad and ever-evolving.

We’re Looking For:

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing–approved nursing program
• Active, unrestricted RN license (multi-state compact and/or state-specific based on practice location)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience
• Additional certifications or experience may be required based on specialty

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

• Collaborate effectively with the care team while maintaining accurate documentation, supporting quality and safety initiatives, and upholding professional standards, ethics, and ongoing development (including flexibility to float as needed).
