RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the System-Wide Float Pool in New Jersey. You will rotate across sites, supporting telemetry patients, with assignments averaging three months per site.

Strong clinical judgment and compassionate patient care are essential as you float regionally within the RWJBH system. Requires NJ RN license, BLS/ACLS, and 3+ years telemetry experience in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license with valid BLS and ACLS; 3+ years telemetry in a hospital setting.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred or within 5 years of hire.
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR) such as EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and respond to clinical changes.
• Administer medications and provide hands-on care with sound clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families for next steps in care.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and promote effective communication.

In this role, RNs have the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad scope of patient care within their specialty area while working assignments at each of the sites throughout our system. The RNs support the team and the patients at each site for an average of three months per assignment. There are opportunities available to float regionally (to the northern or the southern region sites) or to float throughout the entire RWJBH system.You will help advance patient care and strengthen the experience of individuals and families across our organization. As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients

• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment

• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions

• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care

• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety

• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification with at least 3years ofmedical/surgical telemetry experience in a hospital setting.Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is strongly preferred or must be completed within 5 years upon hire. Comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a full-time, Night Shift schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. withweekend and holiday rotations, 36 hours per week, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
