Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for full-time days in the Tele Med Surg unit. You will deliver safe patient care, perform the nursing process, and support patient and family education.

This role requires an active RN license in Illinois, BLS and ACLS, and willingness to obtain basic arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days. Sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse delivers safe patient care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation).
• Provides direct patient care within the Telemetry Unit scope and maintains standards of care.
• Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.

Overview

Department: Tele Med SurgSchedule: Full time Days|3-12 hour shifts 7a-7p| Rotating holidays.Facility:St. Francis HospitalLocation: 355 Ridge Ave Evanston, Illinois 60202

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in Telemetry Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to their assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
