Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Surgical Telemetry unit. This 42-bed all-private unit provides nursing care to medical and postoperative surgical patients, including telemetry, in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment.

The role requires completion of an accredited nursing program, an active RN license in the state, BLS certification, and a preference for at least 1 year of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (American Heart Association).
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferable.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care.
• Lead with evidence-based practice and clinical decision making to create a safe patient environment and strong patient experience.

Where You Will Work

42 bed all private unit - surgical telemetry unit that provides nursing care to patient population needing medical and postoperative surgical services, including telemetry. Lutheran General is a Level 1 Trauma Medical Center with magnet designation.

We’re Looking For

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferable

What You’ll Do

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
