Beacon Health System in Kalamazoo, MI is hiring a Full-time Day shift Registered Nurse for our Surgical Department at Kalamazoo Hospital. The role features a 0.90 FTE (36 hrs/wk) schedule and a 7a-7:30p shift with weekend and holiday rotation.

As a Surgical Dept RN, you will provide professional nursing care, assess patient needs, implement plans, and collaborate with the team to deliver safe, compassionate care. Michigan RN license and BSN within 5 years are required or in-process.

About Beacon Kalamazoo

Beacon Kalamazoo provides 24/7 emergency care and a Level II Trauma Center. We deliver care for serious life‑threatening injuries/illnesses, and your everyday health needs, including labor and delivery. We offer specialty care for heart/vascular disease, lung and sleep disorders, mental health conditions, and women’s health. We offer a wide range of outpatient services, including diagnostic imaging, lab tests, respiratorytherapyand rehabilitation therapy services.

What You’ll Do

As a Surgical Department Registered Nurse, you’ll report to the Director or Manager to provide professional nursing services in the area of assignment, assess the needs of patients and initiates, and implement and evaluate individualized plans of care. You will collaborate with other professional, clinical, and ancillary staff in providing compassionate and quality care to patients.

Surgical Department RN Job Responsibilities

What You Bring

As a Registered Nurse, you’ll bring a high level of knowledge and competency in performing nursing care procedures, assessments, treatment, and techniques and your advanced analytical skills are necessary to solve complex problems and make decisions related to patient care. You demonstrate the interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, visitors, physicians and others. You demonstrate the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner. You have an understanding of the need to be responsive and reasonably adaptable for scheduling purposes, when necessary, due to extenuating circumstances in support of co-workers and department functions.

Required Qualifications
