Job summary

Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Surgical Day Care to provide pre-operative and post-operative care for same-day procedures. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient recovery and safe discharge.

Required qualifications include RN license in Massachusetts, ACLS and PALS, min 2 years medical/surgical experience, and strong clinical judgment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience.
• Experience in CCU, ED, or PACU strongly preferred.
• Current RN license in Massachusetts.
• ACLS required.
• PALS required.
• IV Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive pre- and post-surgical nursing care for same-day surgery patients
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia staff, and interdisciplinary teams
• Monitor patient status and respond to clinical changes with sound judgment
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery at home
• Ensure all care aligns with hospital standards, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing guidelines
• Maintain accountability for the safety and quality of care you provide or delegate

Join our Surgical Day Care team and play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing same-day surgical procedures. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you’ll provide both pre-operative and post-operative care, helping patients safely prepare for surgery and recover with confidence before returning home the same day.

You’ll work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment alongside surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary care teams—where your clinical expertise and voice truly matter.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience required

Licensure & Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
