Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Plano seeks an RN for Surgery to join a fast-paced, patient-focused team. The role covers pre-procedure, procedure, and recovery in a self-contained outpatient department with opportunities for cross-training and career development.

PRN/as-needed days with Monday and Tuesday availability; requires RN license, 1 year experience, and certifications (BCLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI) within stated timelines.

Qualifications

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree of Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse required.
  • RN license required at hire; BCLS, ACLS, PALS within 90 days; CPI within 90 days.
  • Experience in a procedural area (pre, procedure, recovery) preferred.
  • Strong confidentiality and ability to work in fast-paced environment.

Work location
  • Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery, 6020 W Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093
Work Hours
  • PRN-As Needed/Days Variable Shifts - Monday and Tuesday availability preferred
Surgery Department Highlights
  • Self-Contained outpatient department providing pain management
  • Endoscopy and Lithotripsy procedures
  • Responsible for preparing patients, performing procedures and recovery

Here’s What You Need
  • Nursing Diploma required or
  • Associate’s Degree of Nursing required
  • Bachelor’s degree of Nursing preferred
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse required
  • Experience in a procedural area (pre, procedure, recovery) preferred
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required and
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire and
  • PALS – Pediatric Advance Life Support within 90 days of hire and
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days required
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment
