Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgery unit. This full-time day position is in-person in Beckley, WV, with responsibilities in patient assessment, intervention, and documentation.

The OR team covers multiple specialties and requires current RN licensure and a nursing degree from an accredited program. Applicants should have BLS and ideally ACLS and PALS within specified timelines, plus about one year of experience.

Qualifications

• RN license valid in state.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of hire.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and thorough patient assessments.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions based on assessments.
• Provide age- and condition-appropriate nursing care.
• Complete timely documentation supporting medical necessity in the record.
• Develop and revise interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.

The main Operating Room features seven fully equipped procedure rooms, each staffed with one circulator and two surgical technologists per room to ensure optimal patient care and support. Our OR team handles a wide array of specialties, including orthopedic and orthopedic trauma, sports medicine, general surgery, gynecology, vascular, podiatry, spine procedures, DaVinci robotic cases, trauma, and urology. Nurses working in this unit are required to maintain current certifications in PALS, BLS, and ACLS. The OR accommodates both inpatient and outpatient cases, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

How you'll contribute

ARegistered Nurse, RNwho excels in this role:

• Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings
• Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care
• Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record
• Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
