Job summary

Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, AR seeks an Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Endoscopy Services team. You will care for pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patients, assist physicians during endoscopy procedures, and provide moderate sedation under physician supervision.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, and ongoing education opportunities. Weekend call exists, with no nightly weekend or holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Arkansas or Compact State RN License in good standing.
• BLS required. ACLS within the first three months of employment.
• Gastroenterology Certification within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Able to work with Charge Nurse and other team members in decision-making and problem solving.
• Provides pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopy procedures.
• Assists physician with endoscopy procedures; provides moderate sedation under physician direction.
• Identifies and implements nursing interventions and evaluates results for diverse patient populations.
• Collaborates with health care team to promote evidence-based care in a healing environment.

If you like most weekends and evenings free, then welcome to the Endoscopy Department. We offer you the opportunity to work with both inpatients and outpatients. Our team consists of nurses, technicians, and highly skilled physicians. The diversity of this department allows you to work with pre and post procedure patients. You will perform colonoscopies, endoscopies, paracentesis, ERCP’s alongside our physicians. While there is a call commitment, the department is not open at night on weekends or on holiday’s. Endoscopy is the best of both worlds, great staff and less intrusive on your family life. A fast paced department you probably never thought of!

Responsibilities:

• Able to work with Charge Nurse and other team members in decision-making and problem solving.
• Integrates and ocmmunicates knowledge and sensitivity to patient's psychosocial, spiritual, cultural and age specific needs.
• Provides pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopy procedures.
• Identifies and implements nursing interventions and evaluates results for a wide variety of patient populations.
• Assist physician with endoscopy procedures; provides moderate sedation under the direction of the physician.
• Collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidence based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. ADN required. BSN or MSN preferred.
• Licensure: Current Arkansas or Compact State RN License in good standing.
• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year recent acute care experience is required. Previous Endoscopy experience preferred.
• BLS required. ACLS within the first three (3) months of employment. Expected to achieve Gastroenterology Certification within three (3) years of hire.
