Job summary

Mercy’s Spine & Pain Management Clinic in Missouri is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to support outpatient procedures and a fast-paced clinic environment. This role offers flexible scheduling, weekend shifts, and opportunities to expand procedural nursing experience while maintaining bedside skills in an ambulatory setting.

Ideal candidates are experienced in outpatient care, comfortable with procedural support, and able to work collaboratively with physicians and specialty nursing staff.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• PRN schedule with minimum commitment and weekend/Holiday shifts.
• Experience in outpatient or procedural settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assess patients, including pain evaluations, vital signs, and medical histories.
• Assist providers with spine and pain management procedures.
• Administer medications, injections, and support IV therapy as needed.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Coordinate follow-up appointments, referrals, and patient education.

PRN Requirements

• Minimum commitment of 36 hours per 6-week scheduling period
• One weekend shift (12 hours) per scheduling period
• One summer holiday shift and one winter holiday shift annually
• Additional shifts may be available based on department needs

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare and assess patients, including pain evaluations, vital signs, and medical histories
• Assist providers with spine and pain management procedures and treatments
• Administer medications, injections, and support IV therapy as needed
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures
• Coordinate care, including follow-up appointments, referrals, and patient education
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with clinical standards
• Support a safe, efficient clinic environment and assist with testing and procedures as needed
