RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Special Procedures Interventional Radiology unit at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick. This Part-Time, Day shift role involves patient assessments, medication administration, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, coordinated care.

The ideal candidate holds an active NJ RN license with BLS and has 1 year in Critical Care or 2 years in Telemetry/Step Down.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
• 1 year RN experience in Critical Care or 2 years Telemetry/Step Down preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred or within 5 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and provide hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers to ensure timely, coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately for next care steps.

Special Procedures Interventional Radiology

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS Certification with at least 1 year of RN experience in Critical Care or 2 years of Telemetry / Step Down experience required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is strongly preferred or must be completed within 5 years upon hire. Cluster Certification, CCRN, and ACLS Certification is preferred. Prior 2-3 years of RN experience within ED / Critical Care is highly preferred and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a Part-Time Day Shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday with required on call weekend and holiday rotations , 30 hours per week, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
