RWJBarnabas Health is hiring an RN for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. This night-shift position requires a valid New Jersey RN license, BLS, and 2+ years in behavioral health.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement within a supportive clinical setting. You will perform assessments, administer medications, educate patients, document in EPIC, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Experience with Behavioral Health Adult population; minimum 2 years.
• Part-time night schedule 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m., every other weekend and rotating holidays.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) such as EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening early as needed.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers to support timely, coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly to ensure understanding and preparedness for next steps.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record to promote continuity and safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and drive smooth transitions of care.

To be considered for this RN opportunity

you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. Experienced required withBehavioral Health Adult population with a minimum of (2) years’ experience. This position offers a part-time night schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Every other weekend and rotating holidays are required. Schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
