Job summary

LCMC Health’s East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA is hiring a Registered Nurse for Full Time Nights (Mon–Thu, 9pm–7:30am) in the Same Day Surgery unit. No weekends or holidays.

You will guide patients through their surgical journey with pre- and post-operative care, education, and compassionate support. Join a multidisciplinary team focused on exceptional patient experiences, infection prevention, and precise documentation.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana (or temporary permit).
• American Heart Association BLS-HCP certification.
• 1 year Med Tele/Med Surg or SDS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Complete patient assessments, review histories, and initiate IV therapy.
• Monitor vital signs and assess pain, complications, and recovery progress.
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, discharge instructions, and home recovery.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Promote patient safety and uphold infection prevention and regulatory standards.
• Respond in emergencies, including CPR when necessary.

What You'll Do

• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.

Qualifications

• Valid license or temporary permit to practice professional nursing in Louisiana.
• American Heart Association BLS-HCP.
• 1 yrs Med Tele/Med Surg or SDS experience preferred.
