Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans East Hospital seeks a Med-Surg nurse to join our frontline care team. You will prioritize, coordinate, and delegate care touchpoints, while building trusted patient relationships.

You bring Louisiana nursing licensure, AHA BLS, and PALS certification, plus at least 1 year of flex RN experience; nights shift. We value compassion, teamwork, and a commitment to safe, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana nursing license
• AHA BLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of flex RN experience
• Preferred 2 years in related clinical area

Responsibilities

• Take the lead: prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for your patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure direct patient care.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients, families, and care team members about significant events, patient condition changes, or questions.
• Prevent and treat wounds.
• Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
• Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, and an exceptional patient experience.
• Advise supervisor when unable to complete assignments promptly, effectively, or safely.
• Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.

Your Everyday

Take the lead: prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for your patients.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensureappropriate directpatient care.

Monitor and engage with your patients, families, andappropriate careteam members concerningsignificant events, patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns.

Prevent and treat wounds.

Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.

The Must-Haves

Minimum:

Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.

Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Current PALs certification.

Minimum Required: 1 year for a flex RN position

Preferred: 2 years in a related clinical area
