Qualifications

• Registered nursing license required.
• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire; ACLS within 1 year of hire.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.
• New Grad RN with acute care hospital experience may be considered.
• Experience in IMCU or Medical/Surgical units preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, coordination, teaching, health promotion, evaluation).
• Maintain professional standards of performance including ethics, communication, collaboration, and evidence-based practice.
• Support transition-to-practice programs and nursing residency initiatives.

Primarily assigned to IMCU or Medical/Surgical units, this unit offers training and precepting on the ICU and ED for Registered Nurses (RN) who wish to move into these more critical care areas or placement into these critical care areas if experienced. This Central Float Pool is ideal for those who enjoy variety or are interested in learning new skills. Due to the advanced level of practice, 2 years of acute care nursing experience is preferred.
