Registered Nurse RN Research Coordinator Pulmonary FT - Detroit

RN Research Coordinator - Pulmonary - Detroit

Full Time - Monday - Friday, 8 or 10 hour shifts - flexible. No weekends/holidays

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Managing 4-5 research studies at a time (outpatient & inpatient).
  2. Enrollment of new patients into the studies, including patient assessment for eligibility and screening process.
  3. Monitoring/administering medication via IV infusion once patient is approved for the study.
  4. Monitoring patients daily, weekly, quarterly, etc.
  5. Documenting/tracking data, pulling reports, etc.
  6. Working with 4-5 study sponsors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 3 years RN experience in ICU or unit caring for pulmonary patients.
  2. Research experience preferred.
  3. Self-motivating, team player, with computer skills in Word/Excel.
  4. Critical thinking skills and prioritizing abilities.

Performs nursing functions independently and in collaboration with physician investigator to ensure that the objectives of an established research protocol are met and in compliance with IRB and sponsor guidelines. Identifies and recruits patients into study protocols as needed. Provides for educational and/or emotional support to patients enrolled in the study protocol. Is responsible for managing the study documentation and data collection for the study, and preparing and monitoring the budgets as needed. Supports physician investigators and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate project participation and compliance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Michigan.
  2. BSN preferred.
  3. Must have a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
  4. 1 year of clinical research experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office and patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
