Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, Kansas is seeking a night shift Rehabilitation Unit Registered Nurse for a full-time role.

You will coordinate safe patient care, assess needs, and continuously revise care plans to meet diverse biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational requirements. Responsibilities include delegating tasks, ensuring high standards, and adhering to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

• Current Kansas RN Licensure.
• Associate’s degree in nursing required.
• BLS must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• ACLS required for Tele, ICU, and PCU.
• Oncology certification required post-surgery.
• All certifications must be completed within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe patient care delivery for specified and diverse patient populations.
• Assess patient/family needs, develop and prioritize goals, evaluate care, and revise the plan of care accordingly.
• Delegate care to optimize patient outcomes.
• Adhere to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse functions under the direction of the Nurse Director/Manager and is responsible for coordination of safe patient care delivery for specified and diverse patient populations.
• The RN assesses patient/family needs, develops and prioritizes patient goals, evaluates care delivery, and continually revised the plan of care to meet the biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs of the patient/family.
• The RN Delegates care as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes.
• The RN adheres to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Job Requirements:

• Current Kansas RN Licensure.
• Associate’s degree in nursing
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• Tele, ICU, and PCU require ACLS
• Post-surgery requires oncology certification.
• All required certifications must be completed within the first year of employment.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• At least one year recent experience in a similar healthcare setting.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
