What You'll Do:

The Registered Nurse (RN ) provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to individuals receiving services . The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, i mplementing, coordinating, and evaluating nursing care in collaboration with providers and members of the multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include completing nursing assessments, administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient response to treatment, coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges, providing patient and family education, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation . The RN d emonstrates knowledge of crisis intervention, t rauma-informed care, and verbal de-escalation techniques, responding effectively to psychiatric emergencies while promoting the least restrictive interventions necessary to maintain the safety of individuals and staff . The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care, individual safety, and positive clinical outcomes while maintaining compliance with organizational policies, the Nurse Practice Act, Joint Commission standards, and all applicable federal and state regulatory requirements. T he RN also participates in quality improvement initiatives, supports orientation and education of new staff as assigned , maintains required competencies, and contributes to a culture of professionalism, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Provides safe, compassionate, and evidenced-based nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and standards of professional nursing practice. Performs all essential functions of a Registered Nurse while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Completes comprehensive Nursing Assessments with individuals and documents pertinent information including Triage, Medical/Behavioral Health assessments and medication administration utilizing appropriate assessment tools. Accurately documents findings and promptly communicates changes in condition to the provider and appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team.

Performs medication by obtaining and verifying current medications from the individual, pharmacy, family, caregivers, and other available resources. Accurately documents medications brought into the facility, ensures appropriate storage, and communicates discrepancies to the provider.

Safely prepares, administers, and documents medications in accordance with provider orders, organizational policy, and the rights of medication administration. Obtains informed medication consent when applicable, monitors for therapeutic response and adverse reactions, providers medication education, and promptly reports medications concerns or errors according to policy.

Accurately transcribes and implements provider orders, performs required chart checks, and completes nursing interventions including specimen collection, laboratory testing, point-of-care testing, wound care, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and other clinical procedures within scope of practice and as ordered by the provider.

Continuously monitors individuals for changes in physical psychiatric, and behavioral status and initiates timely nursing interventions, provider notification, emergency response, or transfer to a higher level of care when clinically indicated.
