Applewood Centers Inc. seeks a Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse for the Residential Program in Cleveland, OH. This evening position involves leading shift activities, coordinating with psychiatrists and therapists, and delivering behavioral health education to youth and families.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Psychiatric Mental Health training or certification preferred.
• Licensure: Active Ohio RN license; BLS certification preferred.
• Core duties require up-to-date clinical knowledge and professional ethics.
• Independent judgment expected with initiative in patient care within team.
• Strong communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in behavioral health or psychiatry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, NP’s, therapists and case managers.
• Coordinate with clients, caregivers and families.
• Provide behavioral health education and strategies while holding clients accountable.
• Assess clients for additional treatment needs and link to services.
• Educate on physical health aspects: weight, nutrition, meds, side effects.
• Provide leadership as shift charge nurse and meet with clients for triage.
• Document observations and interventions and seek team guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required. Specialized training in or certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
• Licensure/ Certification: Active Ohio Nursing license. RN required. BLS certification preferred.

AGENCY SUMMARY:

Applewood Centers is a premier provider of community-based behavioral health services in Northeast Ohio. We are currently looking for a flexible, caring, and organized Psychiatric Nurse interested in providing and enhancing their skills in a residential behavioral health setting. As the Registered Nurse for our Residential Program, you will be joining a passionate team dedicated to treating children and adolescents with mental and behavioral health issues.

JOB SUMMARY:

• Collaborating with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, therapists and case managers both within and outside of the agency
• Collaborating with clients, caregivers, and significant others
• Providing behavioral health education and behavioral management strategies while holding client accountable
• Assessing clients for additional treatment needs and linking them with needed services
• Having knowledge of physical health aspects of client care, including weight, nutrition, medication education, assessing and education of side effects, risks and benefits of medication
• Proving clients with community resources
• Provide leadership in the day to day activities of the department (as a shift charge nurse)
• Meeting with clients independently as referred by Psychiatrists and psychiatric APRN's and for triage
• Communicate and document observations and interventions, while seeking and utilizing guidance from team members
