Job summary

Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista, Arizona, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This full-time night shift offers 12-hour shifts from 6:45pm to 7am and a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 for candidates with 2+ years of RN experience.

Qualifications

• Arizona Registered Nurse license (AZ or Compact) required.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of RN experience preferred; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other nursing care.
• Document care and monitor patient condition; communicate with the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Detect changes in patient status and escalate to appropriate health care team member; use resources as dictated by acuity.
• Prioritize patient problems, focusing on urgent and critical issues.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Coordinate patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharge planning, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support.

How You’ll Contribute

Essential Functions

• RN performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Detects change in patient status, reports to appropriate health care team member and utilizes resources as dictated by the acuity.
• Assigns priorities to the patient’s problems with highest priority given to problems that are most urgent and critical.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have a current Arizona or compact state RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree preferred.
• Must have an active AZ or Compact RN License.
• 1 to 2 years of experience preferred.
• Must obtain ACLS within 90 days of hire.
