Job summary

Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista, Arizona is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical-Surgical unit. This full-time night position features 12-hour shifts from 6:45pm to 7:00am and uses the nursing process to deliver high-quality patient care.

As part of Lifepoint Health, Canyon Vista values compassionate care, professional development, and teamwork. Requirements include an ADN, AZ or Compact license, BCLS, and preferred ACLS/PALS; one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• ADN or equivalent required.
• Arizona or Compact RN license required.
• BCLS required.
• ACLS, PALS and Handle with Care preferred.
• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medications and treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.

How You'll Contribute

Join our team in a supportive environment that fosters growth and learning. Work with cutting‑edge technology. As a registered nurse, you will be responsible for delivery of patient care in the Medical‑Surgical Department through the nursing process of interview, assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and triage.

The RN provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.

• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.

What We're Looking For

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred.
