Job summary

Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a Weekend Wound Care Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role focuses on wound care, skin integrity, and resident outcomes in a long-term care setting, with day shifts and weekend coverage.

The RN will oversee wound care, perform assessments, and work with an interdisciplinary team to implement treatment plans and prevent complications. We value compassionate, resident-centered care and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in good standing.
  • Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred.
  • Wound care or treatment certification preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Compassionate, resident-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee direct wound care and skin treatment activities.
  • Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care needs for residents.
  • Manage and treat skin disorders and wounds according to physician orders and protocols.
  • Conduct skin assessments and participate in weekly skin rounds.
  • Monitor preventive measures including turning, positioning, and skin protection programs.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary Care Planning Team.
  • Educate residents, caregivers, and nursing staff on wound prevention and skin care.
  • Assist with modifying treatment plans based on resident response and clinical needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Order and track wound care supplies and treatment equipment.

We are seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Weekend Wound Care Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role is ideal for an RN who enjoys focused clinical care, assessment, and working closely with residents and interdisciplinary teams to support healing and prevention.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), the Treatment Nurse is responsible for overseeing skin care services and wound treatment for residents under physician supervision.

This role focuses on the prevention, treatment, monitoring, and management of skin disorders and wounds in accordance with established clinical protocols and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
