The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PRN role in a correctional clinic. Under general supervision, the RN provides individualized, goal-directed patient care using the nursing process and works with the health care team to achieve optimal outcomes.
Minimum education includes graduation from an accredited nursing program; licensure through the South Carolina Board of Nursing is required. BLS is required; ACLS/PALS/NIHSS may be required for some positions.

The Registered Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
This is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of
one year of work experience as a Registered Nurse required. Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) with American Heart Association (AHA) required. Some positions require certification in AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), AHA Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), NIHSS Stroke Scale Certification, and Crisis Prevention training.
